We invite you to apply for the competition "Sower 2016"

The Ministry of Agriculture (MA) invites rural entrepreneurs, young farmers, as well as family farms to apply for the popular “Sower 2016” competition among farmers. Not only municipalities, but also non-governmental organizations of farmers and food producers are invited to nominate candidates for the competition. This year, the competition participants will be evaluated in seven groups and an award for lifetime contribution to agriculture will also be presented.

Participants in the "Sower 2016" competition will be judged in the following nominations:
• “Farm of the Year”, which will evaluate crop, dairy and meat production farms,
• “Food Production Company of the Year”,
• “Family on a farm”,
• “The Young Successful Farmer”,
• “Agricultural Cooperative”.

This year, participants will also be judged in the nominations "Tomorrow's Sower - Small Group Member" and "Science for Rural Development".

Applications for participation in these competition groups must be submitted At the consultation offices of SIA “Latvian Rural Consulting and Education Centre” or at the regional agricultural departments of the Rural Support Service (RSS), or at the Central Office of the RSS in the Customer Service Department, in Riga, Republikas laukums 2 until June 1, 2016.
