In Bēne, we presented the LIFE Godwater IP project activities on the Auce River and its banks.

On February 21, farmers gathered at a seminar in Bēne ZSA to discuss the latest changes in the basic requirements for receiving area payments, the activities of the LIFE Godwater IP project in the Auce River and on its banks, as well as the activities planned by the Real Estate of the Ministry of Agriculture (ZMNĪ) in the Auce River.

 

“Zemnieku Saeima” crop expert Iveta Grudovska spoke about the research conducted in the LIFE GoodWater IP project, as well as introduced the experience of other countries in improving water situations. Subsequently, Andis Fogelis, Real Estate Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, spoke about the planned works to maintain the Auce River and improve water quality. In turn, Andris Sabitovs, agronomist of SIA “TAND UKRI”, presented his experience working with precision technologies and more environmentally friendly farming methods. In conclusion, Juris Lazdiņš, Chairman of the Board of the Agricultural Association of Latvia, and Valters Zelčs, foreign policy expert, introduced farmers to the latest changes in the basic requirements for receiving area payments, agri-environmental measures and eco-schemes.
