Easing the conditions for using the milk quota in the last milk quota year
Today, July 1, the government supported the amendments to the milk quota administration regulations prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture. The amendments were made so that in the last milk quota year (2014/2015) all unused milk quota would be used for production as much as possible and so that producers would have the opportunity to obtain additional milk quota more promptly through leasing transactions.
.
It is planned that the milk quota system will be abolished from 1 April 2015. In order for producers to be able to replenish the missing quota as soon as possible, the regulations have relaxed the conditions, stipulating that producers can lease their quota if they have fulfilled their milk quota by 95 percent instead of the previous 100 percent. The amendments also remove the restriction on a producer to lease or sell milk quota received from the state reserve in the last two quota years.
.
The regulations have been supplemented with transitional provisions that set a deadline for producers to apply (February 1, 2015) for an additional milk quota from the state reserve. If a producer has not sold any milk in the last milk quota year by February 1, 2015, his quota will be reduced by 85 percent and the released amount will be transferred to the state reserve.
