Work is underway to prepare an online study course program.
Within the framework of the LIVET project, it is planned to develop an online or xMOOCs study program at the 5th qualification level for veterinary medicine specialists on the management and practical application of the "One Health" principles in the livestock sector. The development of the program has begun with a survey of farmers, veterinary medicine and agricultural students on the knowledge and skills that would be important to them in relation to the "One Health" approach. Interviews have been conducted with farmers and focus groups have been organized on the content of the study program, both in Latvia and in other project member states. The main conclusions are that those working in the sector want to see the program as practical as possible, to acquire knowledge and skills that can be applied on the farm.
These recommendations have been taken into account and a 75-hour program has been developed. The program is divided into 7 modules, such as Zoonotic Diseases; Food Safety; "One Health" Approaches in Practice, etc. Further work will continue on the development of program content and study materials, as well as the creation of two in-person specialization courses.
