At the Farmers' Parliament Congress, farmers were introduced to the AgriDataValue project

The Annual Congress 2025 of the Latvian Farmers’ Parliament (Zemnieku saeima) took place on 6 March 2025 at the cultural centre “Ulbrokas Pērle”. The event brought together farmers, agricultural organisations, policymakers, researchers, and innovation stakeholders to discuss key developments and future perspectives of the agricultural sector in Latvia.
The congress programme included an overview of organisational activities and governance matters, as well as a dedicated conference session on digital transformation in agriculture, with a particular focus on the practical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at farm level. The session “What should a farmer start with when using Artificial Intelligence?”introduced farmers to AI-based decision-support tools, data-driven farm management solutions, and digital advisory services.
In addition, a policy discussion on agricultural modernisation and future agricultural policy highlighted the importance of smart, sustainable, and data-driven technologies for the long-term competitiveness of the sector. A project forum running alongside the congress showcased innovation initiatives and facilitated knowledge exchange among stakeholders.
The topics addressed during the congress were closely aligned with the objectives of the Horizon Europe project AgriDataValue, which aims to unlock the value of agricultural data through trusted data sharing, interoperability, and farmer-centric digital solutions. The focus on AI, digital skills, and data-driven decision-making directly supported AgriDataValue goals related to improving farm productivity, sustainability, and resilience. Overall, the Farmers’ Parliament Congress 2025 served as an effective dissemination and engagement platform, increasing awareness of digital technologies and European research and innovation initiatives, and supporting the uptake of data-driven solutions promoted by the AgriDataValue project.
