BALTIC COMPACT

The Baltic Compact is an extension of the strategic project phase of the Baltic Compass project. It promotes a balanced approach to agri-environmental management; sound regulatory and economic incentives, while supporting local collective governance.

BALTIC COMPACT PARTNERS

The partnership is formed by selected organisations that are essential for the successful implementation of the project, including the contributions of each partner, which play a significant role. The partnership includes national and regional authorities, national agri-environmental research focal points, agricultural technology development, farmers' organisations, and training farms. The partnership agreement plays a major role in involving relevant organisations in the project and thus reflecting the project objectives and current activities. The partners are also linked to the main regional network environment, with agricultural product producers and agricultural technology environmental sectors.

To the lead partner, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) as a national institution it has a legitimate role in establishing focal points for strategies and programmes at EU level, as well as focal points for research and environmental monitoring. Experience and views on the project's contribution to the national context are provided by partners from the Swedish Agricultural Council (National Board of Agriculture), Finnish Agricultural Product Research Expert Organization (MTT) and the German Agricultural Agency, Environment and Rural Areas in the German Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein (LLUR). The Latvian Farmers' Council and Vecauce Farms represent agricultural producers. Representing the country with the most intensive agricultural production in the region, the Danish Agro-Business-Park (ABP) provides solid technological knowledge and experience, addressing policy gaps and identifying business opportunities related to agricultural and environmental technologies.

The Baltic Compact is divided into 4 work packages (WP's):

WP1: Management and administration
