BreedExpo
Project objective: Promote the export of Central Baltic companies to third countries.
Project description: Estonia, Latvia and Finland have good opportunities to export breeding animals (both dairy and beef cattle). For example, Estonia is among the TOP3 countries in Europe in terms of milk production productivity, while Latvian companies have experience in cattle exports. Larger farms are actively working on improving the quality of animals. New cattle export markets would promote cattle breeding in the Central Baltic region. The main goal of the “BreedExpo” project is to support livestock producers from the Central Baltic region who are interested in exporting breeding animals and entering new markets – Kazakhstan, Georgia and Ukraine. The project objective is to have at least 1 sales transaction per target market by the end of the project or within a year after the project. One sales transaction means that 100 or more animals are purchased for farmers by local intermediary organizations (breeding associations, farmers’ cooperatives or similar) and sold to target markets.
