SmartFarmer project goal is to develop a long-term training program for food products with very high nutritional value (Superfoods) and high antioxidant contentby integrating the growing technologies and marketing measures for these food products for sale in Europe (emphasizing their advantages compared to other products) into the material developed by ProudFarmer, as well as getting acquainted with successful examples of cooperation.

The role of the Farmers' Parliament in the project:
– Introduce project partners to the Methodological Training Materials in Marketing (MTTM) – the result of the ProudFarmer project;
– Share ideas, teaching methods and practical training experiences;
– Conduct a needs analysis in Latvia;
– Adapt and update MTTM to the current needs of the Latvian project target group.
– Test the curriculum in Latvia

ZSA leads WP2 work package - needs analysis:
T2.1. Needs Analysis Methodology and Tools (November – December 2013)
Recommend a methodology for needs analysis and develop the necessary methods: questionnaires, interview guidelines, etc.
T2.2. Data collection (January-February 2014)
Partners will conduct a needs analysis in their countries, applying the developed methodology. At least 50 questionnaires and 10 in-depth interviews are planned in each project country.
T2.3. Summary of conclusions (March-April 2014)
The project partners submit a needs analysis and the ZSA prepares a summary report that outlines the situation in all partner regions, compares the results and draws conclusions for adapting the curriculum. The report will be based on both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Results:
Updated methodological teaching tool in marketing
A manual for instructors and a student guide – methodological instructions for instructors on how to use the curriculum and for students to be able to study the learning materials independently.
The updated material has been translated into LV.
