WATERDRIVE
WATERDRIVE The goal is to go a step further – to introduce new, smarter water management practices in agriculture, encouraging stakeholders to cooperate, creating innovative planning tools for water resource management and spatial development planning, creating and testing forms of cooperation for water resource management, as well as preparing recommendations for agri-environmental measures for the new planning period.
The direct target groups are local governments, farmers, agricultural consultants and other water and land managers, as well as policy makers. The project involves partners and combines expertise from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
We have two years of work ahead of us, in which we will try to implement at least a part of the experience and knowledge of foreign partners, in cooperation with Latvian project partners, in Latvia, in the territories adjacent to the Svēte River. We hope for the support of members of the Farmers' Assembly and other farmers, because only by working together and testing ideas and solutions in practice can we prepare the most realistic proposals for policy and support instrument makers.
