Rye bread is our unique national heritage, which is included in UNESCO and which is important to pass on from generation to generation. Therefore, it is currently important to discuss how to maintain farmers' interest in growing high-quality rye for local consumption, bakers to bake rye bread, and residents to continue to prefer rye bread and other breads made from rye, taking into account that new eating habits are entering Latvia.
