

LLKA invites applications for the training course "Strengthening the Management of Small and Medium-sized Agricultural Cooperatives"
The Latvian Association of Agricultural Cooperatives (LLKA) invites ZSA members to apply for a training course “Strengthening the management of small and medium-sized agricultural cooperatives”The training course is organized within the framework of the sub-measure “Vocational education and skills acquisition measures” of the measure “Knowledge transfer and information measures” of the Latvian Rural Development Programme for 2014-2020. Theoretical training will take place on November 20 and 25, 2019, in Ozolnieki, while the practical training is scheduled for December 2 and 3, 2019 in Lithuania..
To apply for participation in the training, you must fill out a participant registration form, a certificate from your employer or proof of kinship (if applicable) - documents in the appendix.
The theoretical section of the training will cover the following topics:
- Human resources. Personnel and cooperative members. Conflict management. Using personnel management tools to build successful cooperation with cooperative members (the role of the cooperative administration as a team). The importance of communication and relationships. Generational theory. Building successful cooperation with employees of different generations and cooperative members. Basic conditions for constructive communication. Types of conflicts. Levels of conflicts. Conflict resolution strategies. Turning conflict situations into solvable problems. Cooperative manager as a mediator: role tasks and opportunities. Practical training in conducting a conversation between conflicting parties, according to the negotiation algorithm. Instructor: Iluta Krūmiņa, currently a lecturer in various training projects and programs (Latvian Local Government Training Center, Latvian Adult Education Association, Latvian Personnel Management Association, State Agency for Cultural Information Systems, SEB, etc.). Former head of the training center at JSC "Latvijas Krājbanka", director for training and consulting issues at the Business and Financial Research Center of the Banking Graduate School.
- Marketing. How to “sell” cooperation and cooperative services. Instructor: Jānis Viegiņš, head of SIA “Pārdošanas skola”, lecturer, trainer. Trains personnel in sales and communication, provides business consultations and conducts audits of existing company structures and personnel work quality. Cooperated with such companies/organizations as Bite Latvija, SIA Norwex Baltic, Riga Stradiņš University, SIA Circle K Latvia, etc.
Who can be a training participant?
- A training participant is a natural person who represents the final beneficiary and participates in the training.
- The ultimate beneficiary is:

- in the agricultural and food production sector – legal and natural persons involved in the agricultural and food production sector, owners and legal possessors of agricultural land (involvement may vary – for example, employees of cooperatives who are not directly involved in agricultural production themselves may also participate in the training);
- in the food production sector – legal entities and natural persons carrying out economic activities and involved in the production of food products not listed in Annex I to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union;
- in the forestry sector – legal and natural persons involved in the forestry sector, forest land owners and legal possessors.
- It is important for the final beneficiary to meet one of the above criteria, regardless of the topic of study.
- The ultimate beneficiary can be either a natural person or a legal entity.
- If the final beneficiary is a legal entity, it requires a Rural Support Service (RSS) client registration number (RSS number can be obtained before training).
- The training participant may be a relative of the final beneficiary (for example, the company “x” belongs to Jānis Kalniņš, but Jānis Kalniņš’s wife participates in the training).
