Seminar: “Health of Beef Cattle Herds: Symptoms, Prevention and Control of Parasitic Diseases”

Association “Beef Cattle Breeders Association” (GLAB) within the framework of the EAFRD measure “Vocational Training and Information Events” activity “Vocational Training” sub-activity “Organization of training at the level of industry specialists” organizes regional seminars “Health of beef cattle herds: Symptoms, prevention and control of diseases caused by parasites”The seminar will take place this year on March 23-24, in Burtnieki municipality.

Seminar progress:

Monday, March 23: 10:00 – 17:00 theoretical classes at the Z/S “Rūķīši”, Burtnieki region (A. Šļaukstiņš)

Tuesday, March 24: practical classes at the farm Z/S “Rūķīši”, Burtnieki municipality (A. Šļaukstiņš)

Seminar topics:

1. Introduction of parasitic agents into farms;

2. Classification of parasites and the diseases they cause;

3. Antiparasitic preventive measures;

4. Symptoms of diseases and first aid for cattle.

The seminar is led by Dr. Med. Vet. Dace Keidāne.

If seminar participants need accommodation, they will be able to use it in the guesthouse owned by the farm for a separate fee: 10 euros per person.

Participants will be issued certificates for attending 16 academic hours of the seminar (8 hours of theoretical training, 8 hours of practical training).

Participation in the seminars is free of charge, with priority given to GLAB members.

On the evening of March 23, after the theoretical training, an evening gathering is planned in the fireplace room of the guesthouse to discuss what was learned in the seminar and share experiences, as well as an opportunity to take a bath in the sauna. Bring a basket.
