Seminar on silage quality in Sutra parish

The LLKC Livestock Competence Center, as part of the State Rural Network activity “Implementation of pilot projects for sustainable agricultural production” or the Herbivores project demonstration “Assessment of silage quality of grass mowed in different vegetation phases and comparison of preparation technologies in dairy cow farms”, is organizing a seminar that will take place on December 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sutri parish culture house in Līvāni municipality.
Agenda:
• Evaluation of silage quality in 2015 and awarding of the most successful farmers (Silvija Dreijere, Head of the Livestock Department of the Latvian Agricultural Society; Zita Briška, Livestock Consultant of the Preiļi KB);
• Efficiency of forage use and its evaluation on farms (Silvija Dreijere, Head of the Livestock Department of the Latvian Agricultural University);
• Feeding – a guarantee of cow health (Aija Luse, Pierīgas KB, livestock consultant);
• Economic management models (Mārīte Vucenlazdāne, head of Preiļi LKB).
