

Training course "Integrated Pest Management System"
It is currently possible to apply for and attend a four-day training course on growing crops in an integrated farming system.
The training will take place on November 4, November 5, November 12 and November 13 at the Latvian Rural Consultation and Education Center, Rīgas Street 34, Ozolnieki.

Training topics:
1. Conditions for sustainable agricultural development in crop production. Use of fertilizers and plant protection products in accordance with environmental requirements - legislation and necessary documentation.
2. Planning and compiling plant rotation.
3. Benefits of soil agrochemical research. Importance of plant nutrient balance.
4. Planning of crop fertilization and plant protection.
5. Weeds, their classification, biological properties. Characteristics of the most common weeds.
6. Crop diseases and pests, their classification. The most important diseases and pests of the main agricultural crops, their control
7. Research into integrated cereal cultivation.
8. Agrotechnical measures in rapeseed cultivation. Possibilities for reducing pesticide use in plant protection.
9. Observations and forecasts of the spread of plant pests and diseases.
10. Occupational safety requirements when working with plant protection products

The training is organized within the framework of the sub-activity “Organization of training at the level of industry specialists” of the activity “Vocational training” of the measure “Vocational training and information events” of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
