Seminar: “Innovative technologies in animal husbandry”

On April 12, as part of the Spring 2019 exhibition, the association “Farmers' Council” organized a seminar: “Innovative technologies in animal husbandry”. The seminar took place at the Rāmava exhibition complex, Valdlauči.

We invited livestock farmers and all interested parties who want to implement innovative solutions to improve production efficiency and economic indicators on their farms to participate in the seminar. In addition, more precise technologies will also allow for better control of nutrient circulation on the farm and reduce risks to the environment.

The seminar was opened by Raimonds Jakovickis, an animal husbandry expert from the association “Zemnieku saeima” and informed about the projects implemented in the organization for testing modern and innovative production technologies and evaluating their effectiveness. The goal of Green Agri is to provide both economic benefits, which are manifested in the form of increased productivity, improved animal reproduction and health, and also to reduce the leakage of plant nutrients from agricultural activities into the Baltic Sea, as well as reduce GHG emissions. The ZSA expert informed about the microelement precise doser and manure management solutions, while Jolanta Līva from SIA Proventus Farms Plus will talk about the cow herd monitoring system “SmaXtec”. In the continuation of the seminar, Vita Būde – Gaile, SIA Healthy Farm Solutions, herd auditor informed about herd monitoring using a 3D accelerometer. The seminar was concluded by Ēriks Hausmanis, SIA Latwa Service with a presentation about the cattle herd reproduction system “Moocall” and innovative laser cleaning equipment for surface treatment.

The seminar was broadcast live and the video can be viewed on the Farmers' Council's Facebook profile. HERE!
