We invite you – Farmers' Assembly Congress 2016

Dear members of the Farmers' Parliament!

On March 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., the annual Congress – Conference of the association “Farmers’ Council” (ZSA) will be held at Bulduri Horticulture Secondary School, which will be held with the participation and support of “Swedbank Latvija”. In the first part of the event, the Farmers’ Council will look back on its achievements in 2015, as well as set priorities for 2016. In the second part, a conference will be held, where high-level Latvian and foreign agricultural experts will express their opinions and answer questions about the competitiveness of European Agriculture in the context of global changes.

The "Farmers' Saeima" congress this year is organized in two parts. Let's start with the speech of the Chairman of the Farmers' Saeima Juris Lazdins, Minister of Agriculture Jana Duklava as well as COPA President Martin Merrild, addresses. This will be followed by a congress, where the current board will report on its activities to date and its vision for the coming period.

The Congress will be followed by a Conference in two parts:

Part I – “Competitiveness of European Agriculture in the Context of Global Change – Challenges and Vision”

Part II – “What’s a farmer to do?”

* Mārtiņš Kazāks, Chief Economist of Swedbank Latvija, will provide information on current events in the Latvian economy.
