A seminar “Current events in silage preparation 2025” was held in Biksti

On April 9, the association “Zemnieku Saeima” organized a seminar and farm tour “Silage Preparation Current Issues 2025”. In the first half of the day, we met at the Biksti Community Center, where participants could listen to valuable lectures from experts on silage preparation and storage.

Iveta Gūtmane (Dr. Agronomist/ SIA “Latvijas Šķirnes Sēklas”) spoke about alternative grasses for silage production.

Next, Ieva Krakopa, a catering specialist at IK “IK konsultācijas”, shared the results of the analysis of the silage project farms.

In turn, Silvija Dreijere, Head of the Livestock Department at LLKC, spoke about the services offered by LLKC for the efficient production of animal feed.

At the end, a tour of the farm ZS “Kraujas” took place, where the owner Ingars Ronis shared his experience with the nuances of preparing and storing high-quality silage.
