ZSA seminar on silage juice runoff reduction in trench and pile technology was held

On March 7, the ZSA seminar “How to reduce silage juice runoff in trench and stirrup technology” was held in Gulbene municipality. We visited the ZS “Lācīši”, where we learned about the farm’s experience in making silage and preventing silage juice runoff.

Next, we went to the Galgauskas Culture House, where Iveta Gūtmane (Dr. Agronome/ SIA “Latvijas Šķirnes Sēklas”) presented the best examples of grasses and corn for silage preparation. Next, Pēteris Dambergs, head of SIA “A Teams Solutions”, talked about trench and stubble silage preparation technologies. Next, Ieva Krakopa, catering specialist at IK “IK konsultācijas”, talked about how silage preparation practices affect quality indicators in analyses. At the end, a working group of the silage project pilot farms took place.
